King Charles is reportedly “Fuming” about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s decision to move to Fort Belvedere.
“It’ll take millions to renovate.”

Kate Middleton and Prince William may be planning to leave Adelaide Cottage for a more luxurious residence on the Windsor Estate — Fort Belvedere — but it seems King Charles isn’t exactly pleased.
Reportedly, he’s upset about the hefty price tag tied to the potential move. A royal insider shared, “Renovations would cost millions, and Charles views it as an unnecessary luxury.”
On the other hand, William and Kate are reportedly excited about the idea. A source explained, “They’ve outgrown Adelaide Cottage, and Fort Belvedere offers everything — historical charm, ample space, and closeness to Eton.”
Fort Belvedere looking deeply haunted.
Over the years, William and Kate have made several moves. They started at Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace, right in central London, before settling into their countryside retreat, Anmer Hall. In 2022, they left Anmer Hall for Adelaide Cottage — and now, less than three years later, they’re eyeing yet another move.
Fort Belvedere is described as a “stunning Gothic Revival mansion tucked away in a secluded part of Windsor Great Park.” According to a source, William and Kate believe they’ve outgrown Adelaide Cottage and are looking for something more spacious. “This property is ideal for them,” the insider said. “It has a pool, tennis court, and Charlotte absolutely loves playing tennis.”
Fun fact: the 18th-century mini-castle was once home to Edward VIII before he gave up the throne. The estate boasts an impressive list of features, including an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, rose garden, greenhouse, private stables, several lakes, paddocks, and multiple cottages for staff.
